Yvonne Chan

Yvonne Chan is a Christian singer and educator dedicated to helping students discover their unique voices and build confidence through singing. She holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Studies from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Yvonne’s musical journey began as a pianist, earning an ATCL in Piano Recital from Trinity College London at the age of 16. While completing her associate degree in piano at Hong Kong Baptist University, Yvonne discovered her love for classical singing. This revelation led her to pursue her dream of becoming a singer, and her talent was recognized with a scholarship to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for her Master’s degree.
As an all-rounded singer, Yvonne has showcased her vocal talents on stages in both the UK and Hong Kong, adept in both classical and contemporary singing styles. She has taken on a variety of solo roles in classical and opera productions, embodying characters like Sandmann in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Suor Infermiera in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and Yum-yum in Sullivan’s The Mikado. Noteworthy performances include her role as the soprano soloist in J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 4 “Christ lag in Todesbanden” in 2023, under the direction of Dr. Grace Yu. Additionally, she has contributed her talents to the “Chan Fai Young X 28 Women’s Choir” at the Hong Kong Coliseum in 2021 and most recently served as the soprano soloist in Bach’s Easter Oratorio BWV 249 at All Saints’ Church in 2024.
Believing that singing is an extension of speaking, Yvonne helps students connect their speaking and singing voices, so they can express themselves naturally through singing. She fosters a supportive environment that encourages mastery of proper vocal techniques and the exploration of diverse musical styles. Yvonne’s outstanding contributions to education have earned her various teaching awards from organisations such as the HK Youth Performance Art and Development Association.
Yvonne is also an experienced choral conductor, collaborating with various churches and schools. She led the Immaculate Heart of Mary College Choir to win Gold prizes at the Joint School Music Association consecutively in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
